The Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA), a recognition body for awarding different media efforts in promoting values in the Philippines recently held its annual gathering last October 25, 2017 at the STAR Theatre, Pasay City. Since the start, the Awards are agreed upon by a body of jurors chosen by the organizers for their competence, impartiality and integrity. Many of them are practitioners in the field of communications but years later, the jurors included academicians, civic and religious leaders and members of the clergy.
REX Crown Publications, our supplementary materials divisions, in partnership with Catechetical Media Network Asia (CMN-Asia), recently won 2 awards at the 39th CMMA. The religion journal magazine for grade school “Backpack” was awarded Best Children’s Magazine / Special Citation and Bread Basket, our supplementary material for pre-school, wins Best Comic Strip for “Sinungaling si Inay?”. After receiving more than a dozen awards from CMMA in our 14 years in the market, we are inspired to continue with our advocacy of forming the youth who will be God-fearing individuals and responsible nation-builders.
REX Crown Publications Inc. was formed with the objective of creating supplementary materials that will complement textbooks back in 2004. Partnered with CMN-Asia, a leading group of award-winning authors and educational practitioners, the journal magazines we produce aim to aid in integrating values and scriptures to the day to day lives of learners.
“We will continue to build a Gospel-based culture in our schools and parishes through our modern-day parables, heart-warming stories, gospel reflections, family-oriented articles, guided discussions of contemporary issues, para-liturgies, and many more creative and engaging articles/activities.” said Mr. Renato “Rene” Carvajal, General Editor of REX Crown Publications and CMN-Asia. “Our modern consumerist society and technological advancements remain constant threats that may render our products irrelevant despite our efforts. But we will remain steadfast in our role as values-formators of our youth. In the end, the success of RBSI and the schools we serve is measured not in terms of the academic performance of our students, but rather in the kind of values they will live by. This is the unwavering mission-vision of our award-winning journals.” he added.

With our intent of educating the Filipino Whole Child, we go beyond Journal Magazines, aside from our supplements for Araling Panlipunan (Sinag & Catalyst) and Religion (Backpack, Bread Basket, & Crossroads), we also recently launched our Religion Modules for Senior High School: “The Church & Me” in response to the need of various schools with the advent of the K-12 program, THE CHURCH & ME Modules is designed as a terminal course for Christian Living Education. It follows the 7 themes of Catholic Social Teaching, the principles enunciated by the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the Catechism for Filipino Catholics, The Documents of PCP II, and the most recent Papal Encyclicals.
These materials are part of our comprehensive suite of learning solutions that engages and enables our partners in education to nurture the Whole Child.
