It is our hope that through the AECon, we will be able to share with you the necessary tools you may use to plan and respond to the demands of 21st Century Teaching and Learning, using the Whole Child approach. We hope we could be of assistance to you, our dear education leaders, in your efforts to champion and implement school-wide programs that will empower your faculty and that will effectively help students attain the desired competencies and learning outcomes.
Together with you and the members of Isang Nayon, given our mutual aspiration to contribute to nation building through education, we reaffirm our commitment to the Filipino youth and the Filipino educators.

SEAN SLADE – SENIOR DIRECTOR OF GLOBAL OUTREACH, ASCD
Sean Slade is the Senior Director of Global Outreach at ASCD, a global mission-driven education association. During his more than two decades in education, he has spoken and written extensively on topics related to the whole child and health and well-being, and he has been at the forefront of promoting and using school climate, connectedness, resilience, and a youth development focus for school improvement. He has written for the Washington Post, Huffington Post, published with ASCD, Routledge and Human Kinetics. He is an SEL expert for NBC Education Nation, VP for Advocacy at the International Union for Health Promotion & Education (North America) and a member of the OECD 2030 global task force. In 2013-14 he co-lead the ASCD-CDC development and release of the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child Model.
DAVID ROSS – CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, PARTNERSHIP FOR 21ST CENTURY LEARNING
David Ross is the CEO of P21, the Partnership for 21st Century Learning. In this role, David oversees all of P21’s programs, which span the entire 21st Century Learning continuum, and its growing state support services. Most recently, David was the CEO & Founder of the Lurner Group, an educational consulting company that partners with starts-ups, non-profits, and school districts on revenue-development models. Ross worked for seven years as the Senior Director for the Buck Institute for Education and led its growth into becoming the dominant provider of professional development focused on Project Based Learning. While at BIE, David created and managed the PBL World Conference and the National Faculty. He is the co-author of the Project Based Learning Starter Kit.
